Our responsibilities on British Grove, Chiswick included communications with the client, district surveyors, consultants, architects and subcontractors, together with the setting out.
Built for the famous eighties rock band Diastraights, Straightjacket studios was an excellent design and build achievement considering the space that all involved had to work with.
The way each of the 3 grids were superimposed on one another meant that setting out for this steel frame structure had no option but to be accurate. Through previous work with our client Tolent Construction SESE came recommended as the company to be able to achieve this task effectively.
Again where design changes were believed to improve the use of this build space SESE were able to liaise with the structural designers, attending meetings both on site and at their design office where clarity was needed for the CAD work produced.
Once we got this structure safely out of the ground, we were asked to consider another high precision structure for Tolent at 15 Greycoat Place, Victoria.
Greycoat Place incorporated the refurbishment of 3 ground floor shops, 4 first and second floor offices and 8 upper floor flats. The project also included the installation of a new car park with a rotating entrance and an extension of the first and second floors. The steel frame extension again was designed to make maximum use of this premium West End space.
SESE were able to engineer this project 3 days a week for Tolent, again emphasising the flexibility we pride ourselves in. This meant although the SESE quality remained our client was able to save on costs.
